For the second chapter of our Carte Blanche series, we invited photographer Sébastien François to shape a heat-struck vision of the city, where temperature bends architecture and reality blurs, guided by the Byredo visual vocabulary. Lines bend. Structures drift. Light becomes matter. The result is an urban mirage, slightly off-balance.
Sébastien François is a Belgium-raised photographer who treats the frame as raw material. Drawn to architecture, he composes with matter as much as with light. Through distortion, chromatic shifts and tactile interventions, he refines the image until new topologies appear. Found objects and reflections often enter the set, in a state of creative tension. His signature is precise yet unstable, at once documentary and dream.
